The String Bean is proud to announce the winning of its sixth consecutive Wine Spectator Award!
More specifically, we’ve won the Best of Award of Excellence. This will be the fourth year in a row we’ve won this exact award.
The Wine Spectator Awards are given annually to restaurants throughout the U.S. who have “a passion for exploring and sharing the world of wine, whether through eclectic flights with a sense of fun or cellars laden with well-aged gems from Burgundy and Bordeaux,” according to the Wine Spectator website.
The String Bean has been recognized by the prestigious Wine Spectator organization for 6 years in a row now. For four of those years, we’ve won the Best of Award of Excellence, one of the highest awards they give out.
In total, 3,749 restaurants in 75 different countries were recognized this year by Wine Spectator, and only 1,215 were awarded the Best of Award of Excellence. This award is given to wine programs that display excellent breadth across multiple regions or significant vertical depth of top wines.
Only 89 restaurants in North Carolina were recognized by Wine Spectator at all.
We at the String Bean are so proud to be recognized for the breadth of wine we carry for our Belmont residents. We’d especially like to recognize Pops, our wine director, for all his dedication and hard work. He takes a lot of time to ensure the wines we carry are among the best of the best, and he’s always working with customers to offer them the wines they are most often looking for.
Over the next year, we look forward to continuing our pursuit of excellence in food, beer, and of course, wine!
