The String Bean has announced today that it will be participating in The James Beard Foundation’s (JBF) Blended Burger Project™, a nationwide contest and challenge to make a “blended burger” by blending ground meat with finely chopped, cultivated mushrooms to create a delicious, healthier, and more sustainable burger.

The String Bean was one of a total of 17 Charlotte-area restaurants made the cut for Wine Spectator’s 2015 Restaurant Awards.
A $1 million plan gave downtown Belmont in Gaston County, about 15 miles west of uptown Charlotte, a facelift – turning it into a destination spot for both tourists and retailers, said Adrian Miller, Belmont’s assistant city manager.
